Homooepathie

The year 1796 is considered the year of birth of homeopathy. At that time, the doctor, chemist and pharmacist formulated Dr. med. Habil. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) this principle. Now, more than 200 years later, around the world continuously gaining importance the homeopathy and finds more and more followers.

Homeopathic medicines

based on natural substances in extreme dilution (of magnitude) and thereby meet the growing reluctance of many patients compared to chemical preparations. The therapy itself is a "gentle" medicine as perceived non-threatening and embodied in an ideal manner.

The main features of homeopathy are the targeted drug choice with the help of the similarity rule that depends on the individual symptoms and personality characteristics of the patients, as well as the use of medicines in the potentised form.

The roots of homeopathy

The German physician Samuel Hahnemann was the thing at the bottom. He basically worked out the principle of similarity, clinically proven it, practiced it and published it finally in 1810 in his 'Organon of the healing art"which has remained a standard work for homeopathic practitioner.

A drug will be looking for the similarity rule for the treatment of sick people, evokes a similar symptoms in healthy, as the therapist observed them at his bedside. The natural disease is as it were overlaid by an artificial - like - illness, which initiated the self-healing powers of the organism.

Hahnemann used the vegetable, animal, mineral, and chemical drugs in his time in the usual doses of Gran (1Gran = 0.06 grams). In proper drug choice he often first noted a deterioration of disease symptoms before entered the desired healing. This so-called initial reaction to keep as low as possible, also initial exacerbation, he reduced the doses of homeopathic medicinal products for liquid substances through gradual reverse shaking with alcohol in relation 1:100 or by seizure with milk sugar in the same relationship for solid substances.

Much to his surprise, the effectiveness of the medicines with increasing dilution took to still. Therefore, he described it later as powers (Latin potentia = force). While Hahnemann 1 / 50,000 dilution compared himself shortly before his death, a dilution in increments of ten was later particularly in Germany usually.

Opportunities and limits of homeopathy

Homeopathy assumes that symptoms are not the disease itself, but reactions to noise causes, showing that the body automatically wants to restore the balance. So, homeopathy does not attempt to suppress the symptoms, but to stimulate the self-healing powers of the body. Homeopathy is therefore active help to self-help of the body.

Homeopathy works everywhere, where the body's regulation is still preserved and basically a chance to heal itself. This is true for many acute diseases, especially in children and psychosomatic or chronic diseases. Some protracted diseases such as such as hay fever, bronchial asthma and Atopic Dermatitis, which often only short-term repair by conventional treatment and then again flare up, can be permanently relieve a homeopathic treatment or even heal.
