Specialist outpatient care in the southwest of Mallorca at the highest German level - that is the aim of the German Specialist Centres To achieve this, our experienced and highly qualified doctors are there for our international patients, residents and also holidaymakers six days a week as well as on most public holidays - either in our premises or also as a visit in your hotel, your home or on your yacht.

History of the Medical Centre

Dr. Rainer Büngeler had been working in the first German medical practice on Mallorca since 1984, more or less as a "lone fighter". In order to make better use of his versatile medical skills for the benefit of his patients, he founded the German Specialist Centre in Peguera in 1988, followed by another in Santa Ponsa in 1999.

The aim: to provide optimal outpatient care that meets the high German quality standards.

Maintaining what is good and, if possible, improving it every day - Dr. Rainer Büngeler lived and worked by this motto. And it worked very well for both his patients and his staff, so much so that it is still part of our philosophy today.

Since the death of Dr. Rainer Büngeler in 2004, the centres have been managed by his wife Birgit and, since August 2012, by Ulrich Esser, each under the medical direction of Dr. Andreas Leonhard. Since 2022, the management has now been in the hands of the new co-partner Per Baar, who is continuously developing our company.

In spring 2016, we were able to expand our internal medicine spectrum to include ophthalmology with the modern eye clinic in Santa Ponsa.
In Juli 2023 we opened the third location in Palmanova.

Our primary goals:

• Rapid diagnosis and tailor-made therapy of acute diseases.
• Avoidance of lengthy hospital stays
• Preventive medicine for the prevention or early detection of diseases
