Prof Dr Oliver Reich, specialist in urology and andrology
Studied human medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the University of Zurich and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) from 1989 to 1995.
In 2003, he was appointed senior physician at the Department of Urology at the LMU Munich.
In 2007, he took over the position of Deputy Clinic Director and Senior Consultant at the Urology Clinic and Polyclinic of the LMU Munich.
In 2010, Prof Dr Reich became Chief Physician at the Urology Clinic Munich-Harlaching.
Since 2022, he has been running a urological practice in Unterhaching near Munich together with colleagues and is active in surgery at the Isar Clinic in Munich.
Research focus and expertise:
Prof Dr Reich's clinical and scientific focus is in the field of prostate diseases, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), oncology, urolithiasis and andrology.
He is particularly known for his minimally invasive and function-preserving surgical therapies for diseases of the prostate, bladder and upper urinary tract.
In 2003, Prof Dr Reich pioneered Greenlight laser therapy in Germany, Russia and Kazakhstan for the gentle treatment of BPH.
His particular expertise lies in the surgical treatment of prostate diseases, and he was instrumental in drawing up the current guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of benign prostate syndrome (BPH).
